Day 241 - August 31, 2008

Hello everyone.. I just wanted to share with you that my first day on Atkins was great !!! It's amazingly easy, and I feel great today..I didn't cheat, I drank my water, and I am full of energy.. I am just amazed at how I feel today... I won't weigh myself till next Sunday, as I want to see how 1 full week works.. and of course share those results with all of you...
So with this quick note.. day 1 down, and only 13 more to go on my induction phase !!

Day 240 - August 30, 2008

Wow... I haven't blog for 2 whole weeks... I am ashamed... Dad hasn't complained, but Rosie and my friends have so I guess I need to stick with my promise that if I am going to blog everyday then I better..... OK OK I got your message...

Well during these last 2 weeks I lost 3 pounds.. Not much to hip hip hooray about, but then it's 3 pounds less than what I had before right?

I am looking at Sept, as the month of new beginnings... You know school starts, a new season is near, and my favorite time of the year is almost here.. I love to wear sweaters ( and not coats and scarfs and gloves yet...) but the warm cozy nights, the fresh air.. You know what I mean... apples, pumpkins, etc, etc......

So with that said, I did a lot of research on what is my issue and what I need to do to reach my goal. Consulted my physician and so starting Monday Sept. 1st I am going to start the Atkins Nutritional Approach. I have a 2 week plan and recipes to make sure that I stay on track. My doctor recommended to walk 30 minutes a day. Any form of exercise, but walking I can do...

Just recently a manager who works for me, lost a ton of weight and he used the Atkins approach and he looks great... When I spoke to my doctor about it, at first you know you think ok my god so much meat, etc.. but if you visit their website, you will see that you are eating net carbs of no more than 20 grams a day.. They have some incredible recipes and a very easy approach.. So let's see what happens in the next 2 weeks.. I should be down at least 15 pounds, and on my way to my goal of 100 by end of year....

Day 226 - August 16, 2008

Well here it is... August 16, and I am a little down.. Not where I wanted to be on this date... I was doing so good before breaking my foot, and it seems that it has taken me a lot longer to get back on track..

During the course of these last few weeks I've tried everything... Low fat, Low carb, cereal diets, u name it I've tried it.. so what can I say.. I tell myself that tomorrow will be a new day, but unless you are overweight. you have no idea how hard of a challenge it is to make changes in your life.

I know what I want, I know I can do it... but it's the inner voice that has so much strength over me that I cannot, really cannot believe it that I cannot get over this...

In less than 2 months my parents celebrate their 50th Wedding anniversary and I really had my mind set that on that day I would hear a lot of WOW's... what I need now is some miracle to make it happen... But I am determine to make a change, and even if it is small steps.. they will be lasting ones.

I realized there are things that I was doing consistently that I stopped doing:
1. Journal all I ate
2. Blogging
3. Exercising ( not walking lately even thought I did a mile and 1/2 and I felt great)

So as you can see if I just go back to what I was doing right, then I will be able to reach my goal...
So with that said..
Mom & Dad.. I will have everyone saying WOW in Oct !!!
( just in case you were wondering the 30 pounds I lost thankfully I have not regained back.. so at least that is good !

Day 214 - August 4th 2008

Hello everyone... WOW... it's been 14 days since I logged in... since then I have been to Florida, enjoyed a few days in the sun and of course had fun... Now back to reality and work and getting ready for a stressful time as the end is near at BP.

This past weekend I got caught up with reading the book, "Crack the Fat-Loss Code." by Wendy Chant. I got to say, I found my answer to understanding my weight gain, and the many things I am doing wrong.. as well as understanding how the human body works.. This book is well worth a read... I recommend it very highly.. It very well written in that it is easy to understand the role that Proteins, Carbs and Fats play in our bodies...

I am looking forward to my weigh in tomorrow, as well as my "Birthday." Yep August 5th is my birthday... and I am looking forward to doing the first week of Crack the Fat-Loss Code and sharing the results with you..

I am planning to blog each day so that you can understand how the the Crack the Fat-Loss Code works...
