Day 93 - April 4th, 2008

Happy Friday !! A very cloudy, raining day here in the east. A great day to just stay in bed and snuggle up with a pot of coffee and a good book...

I wanted to write early today, as I had a rude awakening yesterday......

On Thursday I had the opportunity to get together for lunch with some co-workers. So we met at Applebees, and since I knew I was going there for lunch I had a light breakfast.. Just cereal and fruit.. for me that's light some of you might be saying finally a healthy breakfast. Well what happen next was we were at lunch and 3 of us are on these life changing diets...so Rosie as good as she always is orders the most calorie conscious meal on the menu.. Kim forget about it.. she orders a Steak with Potatoes and a carb loaded lunch.. Me trying to be prim and proper order a soup and a oriental chicken wrap.. Thinking to myself that I am being good.. Well what happen next it a surprise that you really wake up and understand why NY is trying to pass the law that calorie counts should be on all menu items.
When I got back and was writing my meal in my journal and looking up my calorie count the meal I had, had a whopping 1256 calories.. and that does not include the 2 buffalo chicken little kickers I had prior to the lunch.. Can you imagine that I had the majority of my meals at lunch.. I felt sick the rest of the day. How deceiving things can be... How prepared you should be before going out to eat to ensure that you do not overeat... You know now I can understand why there is a book out there call. "Eat this not that." It really wakes you up !!!
Well that was a wake up call for me, and if I did not journal that meal I was of never realized how I am not knowledgeable about how to make the right choices... Of course that made me make a different decision for dinner, but I realized how key and important it is to journal all that you eat as this will help me lose the weigh and keep it off..
So this morning I hooked on my pedometer, have my little handy dandy journal, and off to work I go... This day will be a new day, and yesterday is behind me... This can only bring good things my way !!! On to the next 10 pounds off !! Enjoy your weekend.
